Here we go again! Once again the temperature is forecast to be less than 4 degrees tomorrow, so no ride I'm afraid. We have been very fortunate with the weather this winter (if you leave aside the wind and rain), so I suppose it is about time we got some colder weather.

Hi Dave - We have an agreement that we do not have an officiai ride if the temperature is 4 degrees or less - which it was on both days. I agree that it seemed OK out there - but I live in the centre of Birmingham and still had to get ice off the car windscreen on Tuesday. I have no way of knowing what the conditions are like in the lanes away from the built up area. Personally, as a leader, I find it very helpful to be clear about it. In previous years I have spent ages in the mornings texting people who live in Sutton to ask what it is like there, only to get onto the lanes and find they are like a skating rink. If people choosed to ride, that is their responsibility - I don't want to be responsible for someone coming a cropper. Looking at the weather forecast, I suspect that Tuesday official ride will also be cancelled unless things warm up. Hope to see you next week. Lesley
