Well its July it should be warm and dry with some balmy summer evenings.............
There are a number of things to look forward to this month including a canal ride, the BBQ, some new evening rides, and ahead to the Club 100. I hope to see some of you at these events.
The Sunday ride out to Hanbury on the 17th is the site of The Fauld disaster which occurred at 11:11am on Monday, 27 November 1944 at Fauld underground munitions storage depot. The explosion was one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history and the largest ever to occur on UK soil.

The Club 100 in 8/10/12 Hours Date: Sunday 7th August 2016

PLEASE NOTE: For this year entry is free but please only register if you have a real intent to ride as numbers will be limited to 60 riders (subject to a first come basis).
The ride is open to other local clubs.
We do NOT have the provision to accept ‘on the day’ entries.

This coming Sunday 3rd July there is an official on and off road ride to the Bull and Bladder via the Netherton Tunnel Matt Hinkley will be leading. Pace will be steady and no one will be left behind. Starting from The Hardwick Arms at 10:00am. Large Baps and Pork Pies along with Bathams Ales are available at the destination. Bikes should be suitable for predomanantly canal towpaths and lights will be required for the Netherton Tunnel.
Tuesday / Wednesday Evening Rides to the pub.
Our first ride was to the Dog and Doublet and a lovely ride that turned out to be. We even got some cheers from the 100s of motorcycle fans that lined the rd at Bassetts Pole! All further evening rides will be co-ordinated, due to weather constraints, on Facebook.
The next scheduled evening ride is to the The Red Lion at Longdon Green Wednesday 6th July. Starting at the Jamboree Stone in the middle of Sutton Park. Ride Starts at 7.00pm. Bring Lights for the return journey. Duration is aprox 1 hour there, a drink (or 2) followed by an hour back.
Sunday 10th July – Club Barbecue at the Anchor Hurley Common
The official ride starts at the Fox Walmley at 9.30 or make your own way there by bike or car. Please check with Dave Frost or Sue Jinks for availability.

100 Miles Club Ride in 8/10/12 Hours
‘East to Willey’ Date: Sunday 7th August 2016
Start Times: [100 in 12 @ 8 am], [100 in 10 @ 8.45 am], [100 in 8 @ 9.15 am]
Start & Finish: Richard Cooper Clubroom, Shenstone, Near Lichfield. Adequate parking in village. The clubroom will be open at the start and finish.
Route: East from Shenstone via Bodymoor Heath, Baxterley, Atherstone, Ratcliff Culey, Sutton Cheney, Kirkby Mallory, Willey, Desford, Market Bosworth, Congerstone, No Man’s Heath, Whittington to Shenstone.
NOTES:
1. It is considered polite to have full length mudguards fitted should weather conditions dictate and all riders should carry adequate tools and spares.
2. There will be a morning refreshment stop at Bosworth Battlefield Visitors Centre. Riders are advised to carry snacks and drinks. A lunch stop will be taken at The Sarah Mansfield Inn , Willey near Lutterworth. (Own food must only be eaten outside the Inn. Please buy a drink to support the pub). Afternoon refreshments are available at Market Bosworth Water Park. Refreshments will also be available at the finish.
3. Riders must follow the correct route and ride as a group.
4. A route sheet & GPX will be provided on receipt of your entry.
5.
