Thank you to all members who attended the vote this morning. We had been made aware that a number of members were unable to attend due to work or other commitments but, with almost 64% of our members voting, the turnout was impressive and ensured that the decision was made by a majority of members.
There were 115 votes cast and the final outcome was that 69 members were in favour of continuing as a members group (60%), 42 were for reforming as an affiliated club (36.52%) and 4 ballot papers were spoiled (3.48%). I am therefore, pleased to announce that our club will remain as a members group.
I hope you will agree with me that it was a good morning with a great atmosphere and I would like to thank Mary Evans, Mike Eades and David Dilly, our Poll Clerks for keeping us in check during the morning.
I would also like to thank Julie Snook, Pam Green, Sarah Hinkley and Sue Jinks for their sterling work in keeping us supplied with drinks, bacon sandwiches and cakes. The proceeds from the refreshments totalled £171.50 and this will be split and donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Care – thank you for your support.
Finally I would like to thank Mike Eades and the committee for the work that they have put in to undertaking the review and bringing it to its fruition today.
Regards Matt
