Minutes of Committee Meeting
Held on Tuesday 5th February 2019
Present: Matt Hinkley, Paul Griffiths, Ian Bolton, Sue Perry, Julie Snook, Ros Llewellyn, Sue
Jinks, Sarah Hinkley and Mike Fowler
1. The Chair welcomed committee members to the meeting.
2. Apologies

3. Minutes:
The minutes of the previous meeting were circulated prior to this meeting; it was
agreed they were a true record.
4. Matters Arising:
a) Item 4 in Secretary’s Report – No facility to put a post on the website.
b) Paul Griffiths is able to update the Quarterly Rides List.
c) Possibility of having a link to the Simple Site
5. Secretary’s Report:
a) MTB rider looking for off road rides did not turn up.
b) Shire Oak Cycling Club, one of many new clubs in our area offering rides on a Sunday
6. Treasurer’s Report:
Recent Expenses Hire of Shenstone Village Hall Room £20
Trophy engraving £20
Jerseys & Gilets (subsidy of £12 each) £222.23
Christmas Meal Subsidies £275
Recent Income Audax 2018 £1269.81
News from Roy Bishop: Audax plans in place for 2019 to be held on Sunday 12th May.
7. Rides:
Tuesday Rides –Lesley Pymm stepping down from organising the ride leaders’ rota. Julie Snook to take on this role.
Wednesday Rides – Nothing to report.
Thursday Rides – busiest ride on the list. Struggle to get ride leaders for some of the rides. New Thursday lunch venue at Ticknall
Friday Rides – No problems with ‘Fisherwick Lakes’ route. Most of the riders go on for a lunch stop.
Saturday Rides – D. Frost out for six weeks or more due to a non-cycling accident. Some groups amalgamate when there are low numbers.
Sunday Rides – nothing happening currently. Possibility of organising a Café ride on a Sunday with some going on for a longer ride. Need to do a survey on future Sunday Rides
8. Membership Matters:
a) No further communications from Head Office.
b) Ride Leaders List – still ongoing
c) Mailchimp circulation of the Newsletter is in the mid-nineties Cycling UK North Birmingham Member Group
d) First Aid Course – Several members interested.
e) Discussion about ICE numbers and possibility of ICE wristbands
9. Marketing:
Rides List drawn up by P. Griffiths is published each quarter on the website and printed copies are available by request.
10. Social:
a) Cycle Jumble sale to be held on Saturday 2nd March 2019 in Erdington
b) Beer and Skittles evening planned for Saturday 9th March at the Walsall Arms
c) Club Barbecue to be held at the Colville Arms, Lullington on Sunday 7th July
d) Wednesday evening social rides to be planned for the lighter evenings
11. Any Other Business
a) Charity Coffee morning planned for Saturday 1st June
b) Club Hundred needs to be set and publicised
c) Club Centennial meeting planned for 19th March
