Minutes of Committee Meeting Held on Tuesday 7th August 2018
Present: Matt Hinkley, Paul Griffiths, Ian Bolton Julie Snook and Mike Fowler
1. Apologies: Sue Perry, Dave Frost, Ros Llewellyn, Sue Jinks
2. Minutes:
The minutes of the meeting were circulated prior to the meeting; All agreed that they were a true record.
3. Matters Arising: None
4. Secretary’s Report:
Two emails advertising cycling products Request for someone to discuss a cycling issue. Not enough notice given.
5. Treasurer’s Report:
a) £192 paid for two quarters of hire of Cooper Room
b) £32 paid for hire of Cooper Room on Sat. 16th June 2018 for pop up café
c) £50 for a wreath for Meriden Cyclist’s Memorial Service
d) Four Club Jerseys sold for £115, Only one jersey( mens size XL) remain from the original order
e) Costs in regards to the Cancellation of the Jumble Sale Alison Readman’s costs £140.90 Hire of the Hall £82 Disham Bhamber costs £32.50 (Samosas)
f) Balance of bank account £4266
6. Rides: Tuesday Rides – maintaining good numbers and a variety of new leaders Wednesday Rides – no report Thursday Rides - busiest rides of the week Friday Rides – Conflict of two locations – Led riders go to Fisherwick Lakes whilst other members meet at Mables, Curborough Saturday Rides – number of riders continues to vary each week Sunday Rides – low numbers
7. Membership Matters:
Sara Hinkley had completed a Survey on Membership Matters. Stated to Julie Rand at head office that what we are receiving from them is not very useful.
8. Marketing:
a) Plan to pass out leaflets to runners at the new Parkrun at Sutton Park (Banners Gate) on Saturday mornings.
b) Beginners Ride on a Saturday afternoon - not much interest to date.
c) New Jerseys – M. Hinkley and P. Griffiths plan to visit a supplier end of August
9. Social:
a) Trip to The Derby Velodrome – aim to book a time slot for a date in October
b) Beer and Skittles Evening on 12th May well attended – a great success
c) Christmas Meal – Need to organise a members’ survey to decide whether before or after Christmas is preferable. An evening event would be more inclusive. Possibility of hiring a village hall and use outside caterers.
10. Any Other Business: Possibility of using Shenstone Village as the start point for our 2019 Audax.
11. Date, time and location of next meeting: Tuesday 16th October 2018 starting at 7:30pm at Shenstone Village Hall. AGM Tuesday 6th November 2018 at the Cooper Room.
